A place for RIFLI teachers to share ideas about teaching computers:

keyboard.pdf     I have students fill in all of the keys on this worksheet before going over the vocab - its great for familiarizing students who are brand new to computers. (submitted by Kim Libby)

keyboard_vocab_withpicture.doc     This file should be two pages with two columns on each page. There should be images that represent the most used keys on the keyboard with the English vocabulary names next to them. (submitted by Kim Libby)

mouse.pdf   - great worksheet for students who have never used the mouse and to learn vocab. When doing this lesson, I also have students trace their hand on a piece of paper and we name the parts of the hand (palm and each of the fingers) and then I review with them which finger is used to click the buttons. (submitted by Kim Libby)

mouse_worksheet.pdf    for students to quiz themselves on the vocab. (submitted by Kim Libby)

Directions for Microsoft Word.doc    This file should be two pages as well (I always print them double-sided so as to get the most out of the paper I use), with one line descriptions and screen-shot images to accompany.   It serves as a foundation worksheet for students to open and save their Word documents; over the next few weeks I will be working on worksheets that go over the file, edit, and insert menu options. Directions for Starting the Computer_CC
This file was created to help students work independently to turn on the computers at ROC and get on to the class website which would then have the day's lesson plan. (submitted by Kim Libby)

Library Data Collection & Analysis worksheets - these two PDF's were part of a two day lesson plan with mixed level groups in order to prepare students to give a library tour to new students. (submitted by Kim Libby)

BBC's Guide to Using the Internet - http://www.bbc.co.uk/webwise/course/coursemenu.html. Easy to use and all pages can be printed for at home student use. (submitted by Kim Libby)
